Sankey design and manufacture to order. Working together with the client we determine the most economical and appropriate tooling options and methods of manufacture. As Australia's largest contract lamination manufacturer we are used to serving customers in Australia and abroad.

Personnel

Sankey employ over 80 full time staff. Our experienced team includes our friendly sales and admin staff, along with our tool design engineers, tool builders, plant engineers, and machine operators.

Operations

Sankey's Newcastle NSW manufacturing facility centres around all operations involving pressing, offering capacity and flexibility. Facilities include 40 presses to 400 tonne capacity, a 120 tonne brake press, and a roll former. 

Our Dandenong Victoria manufacturing facility houses 6 state-of-the-art aluminium die-casting machines, 2 CNC machining centres, and a sophisticated 3 axis coordinate measuring machine.

Both operations have the flexibility of 7 day 24 hour shifts and can easily manage seasonal and unexpected demand fluctuations.

Sankey VIC & NSW

History

1952 - Sankey is established as a transformer and motor laminator manufacturing in Mayfield Newcastle Australia.

early 1970s - Sankey diversified into manufacturing general metal stampings, for applications including building, mining, racking, and transport, offering customised and standard design accessories.

1970's - Became part of the Lysaght group

early 1980s - Became a part of BHP through its purchase of Lysaght.

1998 - Sankey was sold by BHP to a private buyer.

2000 - Sankey became a part of the CMG Group, where it has settled into its current growth phase.

2003 - Sankey acquired the Enviroflo company and expand its offering to include the manufacture and distribution of Smartflo low maintenance enclosed guttering and accessories.

2005 - Sankey expands further with the commissioning of its aluminium die casting operations in Dandenong Victoria to meet the needs of die-casting for electrical motors and general items.

Sankey further expands its offerings by acquiring expanded metal press equipment from BlueScope Lysaght to enable production of a full range of expanded metal products in steel and aluminium.

The Future of Sankey

In September 2006 Sankey will relocate its stamping operations to a brand new purpose built 10,000 m² premises in Newcastle, as we continue to expand our operations and meet the need for metal products for industry.
